Hardware and software Requirements

Kourier is installed on your IBM U2 application server, which can be Unix or Windows-based. See below for minimum requirements. Some Kourier applications may have additional requirements, see individual product pages for details.

Application Server General Requirements

• IBM UniData 3.3.2.n or later

• IBM UniVerse 9.6.x or later

• FTP access is required to move data to/from other server

• Your business application may have specific requirements, contact us for more information

Unix-based Server Requirements

• See IBM UniData/UniVerse system requirements for Unix operating systems supported

• Java runtime engine 1.3 or higher is required for smtp, ftp, http, and https

• Unix e-mail services must be loaded and operational

• Unix e-mail must be routed to the internet

Windows-based Server Requirements

• See IBM UniData/UniVerse system requirements for Windows operating systems supported

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher for ftp, http, and https protocols

• Must have network access to the SMTP e-mail server 

Fax Servers

• Fax capability requires third-party software such as GFI’s FaxMaker or Captaris’ RightFax

• Dedicated modem and phone line

• Internet faxing service can be used in lieu of a fax server (e.g., eFax.com).
